Phosphorus Pentoxide Powder: Phosphorus pentoxide is a white, microcrystalline, light weight powder which is produced by the combustion of elemental phosphorus in an excess of oxygen. Phosphorus pentoxide is the anhydride of orthophosphoric acid, H3PO4. It is very hygroscopic and is converted by water to H3PO4 via intermediates. The reaction with water is very vigorous and proceeds with the evolution of a large amount of heat.
Phosphorus Pentoxide Powder: Phosphorus pentoxide can be used to produce phosphate esters with a mono/di ester content. The acid is reacted directly with the appropriate alcohol or phenol to produce the acidic phosphate ester. Also, Because of its strong hygroscopic properties phosphorus pentoxide can be used as a drying agent.
Phosphorus Pentoxide Powder: Phosphorus pentoxide can be used as a reagent for condensations in organic synthesis and polymerization reactions. Typical uses include cyclisation / ring closures in such reactions as acetylation, alkylation and production of amines, acid amides, cyclic ketones, cyclic olefins or oxygen and sulphur heterocyclic compounds. These types of reaction are widely used in the preparation of organic intermediates in the pharmaceutical, vitamin, colors and dyes industries.
Phosphorus Pentoxide Powder: It can be used as a desiccant of gases and liquids, dehydrating agent for organic synthesis, antistatic agents of synthetic fiber and sugar refining agent. It is also used in the manufacture of optical glass, UV transparent glass, insulating glass, microcrystalline glass and opaque glass, etc, so as to improve the dispersion coefficient and UV light through ability of the glass. Also used in the production of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, surfactants. It also used as the semiconductor dopant, and raw material for the preparation of high purity phosphoric acid.
Phosphorus Pentoxide Powder: Potential applications of inorganic compounds are as: Ammonia is a nitrogen source in fertilizer, and it is one of the major inorganic chemicals used in the production of nylons, fibers, plastics, polyurethanes (used in tough chemical-resistant coatings, adhesives, and foams, hydrazine and explosive. Chlorine is used in the manufacture of polyvinyl chloride (used for pipes, clothing, furniture etc.), agrochemicals (e.g fertilizers, insectisides, soil treatment) and pharmaceuticals.
