Nano Boron Nitride properties are high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion, good thermal, shock resistance, low resistance, high electrical resistance, low dielectric constant and non toxicity. BN nanostructures are expected to be useful as electronic devices, field-effect transistors, high heat-resistant semiconductors, insulator lubricants, nanowires, magnetic nanoparticles and gas storage materials.
Nano Boron Nitride (hBN) is also known as ‘White Graphite’, has similar (hexagonal) crystal structure as of Graphite. (h-BN) is a wide band-gap material with outstanding mechanical, electrical and optical properties. It consists of a layered structure that is very similar to graphite.
Nano Boron Nitride is widely used to reduce friction in industrial applications, but it has only recently been adapted to bullets. The “latest and greatest” bullet-coating material, hBN is ultra-slippery, goes on clear, and will not combine with moisture or potentially harm barrel steel. hBN also can withstand extremely high temps (1000° C). hBN will become the preferred dry lubricant for bullet-coating.
We used Nano Boron Nitride for nuclear powder applications to for electrical insulation and high thermal conductivity.Fortunately we found very excellent desired results.
