The brass powder is mainly an alloy that comprises of copper with zinc added. Zinc or other elements can be added to varying amounts in brass. These varying mixtures form a wide range of properties and variations in color. Increase amounts of zinc provide the material with enhanced strength and ductility. The color of brass can be changed from red to yellow depending on the amount of zinc added to the alloy.

Brass powder is commonly utilized for decorative purposes primarily due to its resemblance to gold. It is also commonly employed to make musical instruments because of its high workability and durability. This alloy group would involve admiralty brass, naval brass, and free machining brass. The tin has been added to impede dezincification (the leaching of zinc from brass alloys) in many environments.

Brass powder: Alloy group has low sensitivity to dezincification, moderate strength, high atmospheric and aqueous corrosion resistance and remarkable electrical conductivity. They exhibit good hot forge ability and good cold formability. These alloys are typically used to fabricate fasteners, marine hardware, pump shafts, screw machine parts, and corrosion-resistant mechanical products.

Brass powder is applied to make ewers and basins, lamps, bowls, jugs, and numerous other household items. Plumbing, decoration, low-friction applications (e.g., valves, locks), tools and fittings used around explosives. Because of its antimicrobial properties, Brass's aesthetic value makes it a popular choice for decorative applications.

Red brass has high strength and corrosion resistance properties. It is commonly applied for valve stems. Red bronze has resembled brass however; it has lower concentrations of zinc. It is commonly employed in the manufacturing of pump and valve components. Through brass residential dishwasher fittings and lamp, fittings are commonly made, as they are both visually appealing and bacteria resistant.
